Brief Animation Director/Assistant Producer Reflection:

My role as animation director/assistant producer broadly consisted of:

- Lead of 15-person animation team, including shot delegation, management of schedule, excel sheets, and part of google drive, extensive feedback through redlining and written feedback, and supervision of full animation process.

- Creation of visual references/breakdowns for Monica, 30+ page animation guide, video tutorials, creation of Toon Boom base node system and render systems, Toon Boom-based final round shot revisions/animation on 34/60 shots (highlights of this demonstrated within showreel), lead weekly team meetings, lead Toon Boom based rendering and personally rendered 33/60 shots.

​- Maintained a high quality of animation through constant revisions while maintaining a supportive and encouraging work environment, resulting in a GFS award nomination for 'Best Character Animation.'

Monica, while a delightful character, was a deceptively difficult character to keep consistent. The constant extension of her limbs, mouth movements, and her hair style and hat were the central issues, to the point where it was a joke across the crew that we should of found a way to knock off her hat in act 1 to make the animation a bit easier. Despite this joking however, this project was a genuine delight to work on - from the great crew to the interesting characters, to incredible 3D environment work, everything was a very fun, and very ambitious, project.
